Vydehi Superspeciality Hospital, in association with the Indian Medical Association Tumkur branch, conducted a continuing medical education (CME) program on July 2023 at the IMA hall in Tumkur. The topic for the CME was “Evaluation and management of Abdominopelvic mass.”
The event was well-attended by more than 50 doctors from Tumkur. The panelists for the event were Dr. MS Ganesh, Senior Professor and head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at Vydehi Institute Of Medical Sciences And Research Centre, and Dr. Shashidhar Kapuramath, Professor and head of the Department of medical oncology at Vydehi Institute Of Medical Sciences And Research Centre.
The CME was interactive, with multiple care-based questions and answers. The session was followed by a small celebration of Doctors’ Day, followed by dinner.
Dr. MS Ganesh started the session by providing an overview of abdominal pelvic masses. He discussed the different types of abdominal pelvic masses, their causes, and their symptoms. He also discussed the different diagnostic tests that can be used to evaluate abdominal pelvic masses.
Dr. Shashidhar Kapuramath then discussed the management of abdominal pelvic masses. He discussed the different treatment options for abdominal pelvic masses, including surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. He also discussed the factors that are considered when choosing a treatment option for abdominal pelvic masses.
The CME was a valuable learning experience for the attending doctors. They learned about the different types of abdominal pelvic masses, their causes, their symptoms, and their management. They also had the opportunity to ask questions and get clarifications from the panelists. The event was a success, and it was well-received by the attending doctors.
