Vydehi Cancer Center, apart from being a high end Cancer Center, has also taken up the responsibility of training young oncologists too. The oncology training program began in 2009 with MD Radiation Oncology, and in 2012, MCh Surgical Oncology and DM Medical Oncology training programs also commenced after due recognition by the Medical Council of India (MCI) All the oncologists trained in Vydehi Cancer Center are placed in prestigious institutes as consultants.

At present, annually, the department of Radiation Oncology trains 5 oncologists while the Medical and Surgical Oncology department trains 2 oncologists each. In 2019, The Medical Council of India, acknowledged the quality of the training program and granted a further increase in the number of oncologists to be trained per year to 8 in Radiation Oncology and 5 each in Surgical and Medical Oncology.
