Introduction
Dr. Bharat Shankar is a Consultant and Assistant Professor at Vydehi Cancer Centre. He holds an MBBS from M S Ramaiah Medical College (RGUHS), MS in General Surgery from Shri B M Patil Medical College and Research Center (BLDE University), M.Ch. in Surgical Oncology from Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery from CMC Vellore. He has further advanced his expertise through the specialized Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgical Oncology fellowship from Vattikuti International Foundation – NH Bengaluru. Dr. Bharat is also a Fellow of Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons of India.
Dr. Bharat specializes in managing gastrointestinal, uro-oncological, thoracic and gynecological malignancies. He was an international traveling fellow at the prestigious St. Mark’s Hospital, London, a Hospital renowned for handling complex colorectal cancers, including advanced exenterative and cytoreductive procedures. He also received training in robotic uro-oncology and visited esteemed institutions, such as Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore.
Being a strong advocate of precision oncology, Dr. Bharat is dedicated to personalizing cancer treatments, focusing on optimizing oncological outcomes while preserving patients’s quality of life.
