Endoscopic surgery is performed through the nose to remove tumors from the pituitary gland and skull base. It is a “minimal invasive surgery”, wherein the surgeon works through the nostrils, with an endoscopic camera and light to remove tumors with the help of long instruments. Various extended skull base procedures can be done through endoscopic method for tumor removal. The endoscopic method provides better visualization, depth perception and 360 degree orientation during surgery. The post operative pain, hospital stay and morbidity to the patient is comparatively less when compared to open surgery.
