At Vydehi Cancer Center, we pride ourselves on being pioneers in the field of radiation therapy. We were among the first in India to introduce Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) in 2007, setting a benchmark in advanced cancer treatment. Our commitment to cutting-edge technology continued with the addition of the Versa HD-Stereotactic Precision Radiotherapy unit (Triple F), which was inaugurated on February 6, 2017, by the Honorable Health Minister of Karnataka. This state-of-the-art linear accelerator, located in our new radiation zone, represents the forefront of precision radiotherapy.
The Versa HD system is engineered to deliver high-precision beam shaping and tumor targeting. Its advanced capabilities ensure faster and more accurate treatment for a broad spectrum of cancers, offering both conventional and stereotactic radiation therapy.
Our advanced technologies enable real-time monitoring of highly conformal treatments, enhancing patient safety and improving disease control. This, in turn, contributes to a better quality of life for our patients.
The Radiation Oncology department at Vydehi Cancer Center addresses all cancer types. Radiation therapy can serve as a primary treatment for certain cancers, such as cervical and head and neck cancers, or as an adjuvant therapy following surgery to prevent recurrence, as in breast cancer. It also plays a crucial role in shrinking tumors, which helps in organ and function preservation, particularly in rectal cancer. Additionally, radiation therapy is an effective palliative treatment, providing relief from symptoms such as bony metastatic pain.
Our expert team is dedicated to delivering personalized and effective radiation treatments to improve outcomes and enhance the well-being of our patients.
